This hike starts on the more colorful side of downtown, goes steeply uphill to Grace Cathedral and the Fairmont Hotel on Nob Hill with its glorious bay views, and then wanders down through narrow Chinatown alleys to the Financial District, stopping in for a look at Sam Spade's elevator, Tin Hau's temple, and some of the grand financial buildings of the early 20th century.
