Presidio-Crissy Field
A Visit to the General

Starting at Crissy Field, the wetlands wildlife refuge recently restored from a military airfield, this hike climbs through the central Presidio, past the Pet Cemetery, through the highest fort in the city, past the General's house, and back down the Ecology Trail to the water. We've seen great horned owls on this walk, and there are beautiful views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge from the top of the hill.
