The Mission

The Mission walk is a festival of murals. It is also one of the few flat walks. We visit the working-class residential neighborhood of the Mission, the traditional Mexican and Latino business district, and edgy, hip Valencia Street. We pass Mission Dolores, the Women's Building, Sha'ar Zahav, the city's gay and lesbian synagogue, the Roosevelt Tamale Parlor, La Palma, home of fresh, hot, hand-made tortillas, and some of the best chocolate in San Francisco.
